Feng Shui Tips for Fall

September 20, 2018 by Belinda Mendoza Leave a Comment

Fall is here and with a new season comes new opportunities!

Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons. – Jim Bishop

Not only does the season bring beautiful hues of orange, red and yellow, but it also brings so many wonderful opportunities to connect with nature. Cool air, relaxing walks and cozy nights by the fireplace are all moments that should be truly appreciated. It’s the perfect time for new intentions that can be placed in spaces where you often walk for daily reminders about what it is you want to achieve.

Feng Shui plays a big part in bringing your house up to par for new beginnings. The nature that fall brings symbolizes a renewed energy that can be placed throughout your home or office. A golden glow begins to take place in both your life and what surrounds you.

Here are a few tips for good tidings of comfort and joy:

Pumpkins

Display plump pumpkins in your foyer, on the dining table or living room because in feng shui they are often regarded as an item that brings wealth and good fortune.

Color

Play on the orange and red that surrounds you and use it to your advantage! Implement shades of orange for socializing with friends and family. Orange decor works well for gathering and seasonal celebrations. Red represents high energy and prosperity which are good for health and money.  Use at or around the front door where energy often originates with ribbons, wreaths, pots or other decors. Yellows and browns bring a sense of relaxation to your space for cozy nights in.  It is a grounding color.

Household Plants

As cold air approaches, we naturally become inclined to stay indoors more. When decorating your home, be sure to include a few household plants to help circulate fresh and clean air. This is not only good for your health but great for the energy that you surround yourself with. It’s also a great way to remove harmful toxins and purify the air for a pleasant breathing space with loved ones.  Place in kitchen, bathroom, or home offices.  Do not place in bedrooms as they add energy where we are trying to slow it down to sleep.

Host a Gathering

Spending time with family and friends is good for your wellbeing and it’s a great way to stop and appreciate all you have. A way to relieve yourself from stresses that work may cause and recharge with laughs and joy. There are many upcoming reasons to celebrate and setting the table with food and drinks is the start to an evening of lighthearted fun.  Use even numbered dining chairs and a round or oval table for family harmony.

Enjoy the Outdoors

Cozy up in a new cardigan and explore the outdoors with a short stroll through a park or time with your furry friends. The sun is sure to be out from time to time to take full advantage and soak up the Vitamin D while listening to the fall sounds like birds chirping, wind blowing and leaves falling. The small sounds of summer ending can relax and destress any tension you may have!

Feng Shui with Chinese Astrology to Energize Your Life

July 25, 2018 by Belinda Mendoza Leave a Comment

Shengxiao

Refers to the “Chinese animal zodiac” and is a repeating cycle of 12 years, with each year being represented by an animal and its attributes.

Years may pass, but your Chinese zodiac stays the same and follows as you grow – secretly playing a large role in your life. From your personality to your morals, each animal refers to not only the year you were born, but the beliefs that have been attributed to your animal for generations.

While these zodiacs don’t make up every part of your life, they do explain certain aspects at times. There are definitely ways to implement Feng Shui practices when thinking about your animal. Embrace those positive qualities and highlight on elements that can make the energy around you much stronger.

Feng Shui Your Beauty Cabinet

July 18, 2018 by Belinda Mendoza Leave a Comment

We spend several moments of our day here and often forget that it’s an important part of our home’s overall feng shui. Boost your beauty cabinet by implementing some traditional feng shui elements like healing stones and straying away from products that can clutter and damage your skin. If possible, try to choose products that are cruelty-free. After all, we don’t want to sacrifice our animals for beauty. Most importantly, when you look in the mirror each day, see yourself as beautiful. This is the best feng shui!

CITRINE

Not only does citrine instantly brighten up any room, but it has known healing properties that can be very beneficial to your bath space. Citrine attracts wealth and success, raises self esteem and stimulates the brain for daily errands and workdays. Powerful healing properties your way!

LAVENDER

Best for the evenings, fresh lavender can help you relax and unwind after a long day’s work. What better way to complete a room than by implementing this scent that helps with both anxiety and stress.

LIGHTING

As for any room, the lighting is key to setting the energy and atmosphere that you want. Your bathroom, beauty corner or vanity is no different! Avoid florescent lights and replace them with lighting best suited for your needs. Warm-toned lighting for comfort and calmness. Cool-toned lighting for more active areas. The lighting says a lot about a room and can shift the energy drastically.

PRODUCTS

We might not realize, but a large percentage of the items in our bathroom need replacement. I’m sure we are all guilty of leaving products under our sinks or in our beauty cabinets and forget to toss what’s been sitting for too long. Be mindful of when you are opening products, labeling if needed, to keep track of when you have products that are expired. Look for the jar symbol on every makeup and skincare product that suggests when items should be trashed after being opened.

Feng Shui for Summer

June 21, 2018 by Belinda Mendoza Leave a Comment

Happy First Day of Summer!

The summer season is such an energetic time for our homes and offices. The sun is out longer, letting in light through the windows for longer periods of time, and our clothes become brighter and lighter! It’s a wonderful way to bring in positive energy and stray away from dark, drab colors. With a new season, comes time for a fresh start so we can reset our daily spaces for maximum abundance.

Tips For The Season

ADD PURIFYING PLANTS

Improve the oxygen that circulates a room with bamboo, ferns and even aloe vera for indoor decor and a healthier atmosphere.

WIND CHIMES

Bamboo wind chimes work wonders and cure and energize your outdoor space. Always use hollow rods as these lift chi. The Southeast promotes Wealth and works well with 4 bamboo/wooden rods. The East promotes Family and Relationships and works well with 3 bamboo/wooden rods.

EMBRACE NATURAL LIGHT

Light is the strongest manifestation of energy! Natural light is the best light so avoid fluorescents when at all possible. Your body reacts to the light around you and bad lighting can cause your body to feel drained and tired. Take advantage of the extra sunlight and keep your windows and shades open.

INCORPORATE WATER

The sound of water can promote natural healing and brings a sense of calmness to your space. If you have a terrace or patio, a fountain or waterfall in the North sector will help relax the mind. As far as interior, try placing a piece of artwork that showcases water of some kind. The image of water can sometimes be just as powerful!

ROUND TABLES

Sharp edges can lead to insecurity and are often called “poison arrows” because of their ability to create negative energy. Whether you’re placing a table indoors or outdoors, round tables work well because you’re able to make the most of a space while avoiding harmful corners.

Happy decorating!
