October is a great month! Not only does it represent harvest time in feng shui. We reap what we have sown all year long. Leaves start to change, breezes get cooler, and it heralds in the holidays. It’s when I start to prepare my feng shui forecasts for the New Year and begin to plan events.
I like the festivities, costumes, trick or treaters and even the upcoming Day of the Dead (honoring of ancestors).
How do you spend Halloween? Do you take your kids trick or treating? Do you go to costume parties?
You might be having a party at your home or going out to someone’s event. You don’t have to ruin your Feng Shui just because its Halloween. Death, skulls and crossbones, are not the only images or ways of decorating.
I actually celebrate Halloween starting on Oct. 1st. I wear halloween colors to business meetings, lunches, or after work events. I even dress my little dogs up. We enter pet costume contests throughout the month. We even have a a “doggie” halloween party “with their friends.”
If decorating your Home or Business, here are some Feng Shui Tips for having a Powerful and Magical Halloween Month:
- Use fiery oranges to bring in prosperity. Incorporate your clothing at the beginning of the month. You don’t have to wait until Halloween night. Hang Goblins with orange ties on the front door as they can ward off negative energy from business associates.
- Use Black to Decorate. A black wreath on the door for some “watchful energy.”
- Metal Jack O’ Lanterns. Black can ground energy.
- Use Feathered Owls. Yes, they may look spooky, but they add protection to your house. Place near the front door. Gargoyles can also work.
- Buy a Halloween Door Mat. Some scary or haunting images are good for warding off negative energy.
- Use hollowed out pumpkins as candles. Place in the center of your home or office. They can bring a sense of calmness to the room. You can use them at Thanksgiving too!
- Using metallics like gold and silver. Your blacks and oranges are great for that shimmery, glowing effect that adds energy to your home or business.
On Halloween night take care while driving when parties or trick or treating with kids or pets. Have fun and make this a magical month!
