What is self-care?
Taking care of oneself at all levels : Emotionally, Spiritually, Physically, and Mentally.
It’s an integral part of having good feng shui and living a happy life. Abundance is not just about money, wealth or success. It’s about having your whole life align into harmony. If our health is poor, we feel weak or sickly and we cannot accomplish our dreams or desires very easily. In my work, I address what people want and work towards setting up a flow for them to achieve them with more ease and grace.
Feng Shui is not just about re-arranging furniture. Its about setting your intentions. How do you want your environment to affect you? What actions will you take? Feng Shui is about increasing momentum for the things you desire.
Self-Care is the first step.
No matter what your life looks like right now, it’s important to include time for you in your schedule. I work with business owners who now achieve more growth and prosperity than ever before. Right after their consultation they are usually overworked and stressed. This, of course, is not good feng shui. Know and trust that the abundance you are experiencing will always be there. Rest assured that taking care of yourself with good nutrition, sleep, and a happy mindset, will not slow you down.

Simple and Affordable Self-Care Practices for Busy People
By Emma Grace Brown
If you think self-care isn’t for you because it takes too much time and money, think again. Self-care is about relieving stress and feeling joy. It can be as simple as walking the dog, reading a book, or hitting a few golf balls on your favorite course. There’s no need to overspend or cut into family time because self-care practices can be worked into your daily routine conveniently and inexpensively. Below are a few ideas you should consider.
Turn Off the Phone and Just Breathe.
It can be hard to stop and decompress for 10 or 15 minutes in the midst of a busy day. However, it doesn’t take much time and actually works wonders for your mood, not to mention your blood pressure. If you feel too distracted to just breathe and let your mind wander for a moment, try turning off your smartphone. More than likely, there’s nothing so pressing that you can’t shut down for a few minutes now and then. Let calls go to voicemail, and return a text or email later on. Tuning out can take some getting used to when you’re constantly on the go, but the benefits of just enjoying the quiet for a few minutes can make a positive difference.
Early Morning Solace
Add another restful ritual to your daily routine by getting up early each morning, enjoying a nutritious breakfast, and doing some simple exercises. It can be a soothing daily touchstone if you don’t like racing out the door, jumping into heavy traffic and feeling frazzled when you reach the office. Declare the snooze button off limits and kick off each day the healthy way.
Take Vacation Time Seriously
There’s a reason your employer offers paid vacation time: They want you to take it because they know the value of time away from the office. So, don’t let this very important benefit go to waste— your brain and body need the time away. If you’re concerned about the cost of travel and lodging, look into a vacation spot closer to home, or enjoy a staycation. As Turnkey explains, there are many fun sights to enjoy in and around Austin, from local favorites like Lake Travis and Lake Austin to something a little more out of the way and offbeat, such as a Haunted Austin Walking History Tour. Regardless of what you choose to do, make sure it’s something you enjoy and find relaxing, which is essentially the cornerstone of self-care.
Go Green
You don’t have to be a master gardener to add some relaxing greenery to your home and work environment. Green plants keep you breathing purified air and give your surroundings a pleasant, natural feel that can help relieve stress. Small-scale indoor horticulture is inexpensive and doesn’t take up much time. Just keep your plants watered.
Dialogue with Yourself (on Paper)
You go through a lot during the course of a busy workday. Each day is full of little frustrations and people who get on your nerves. Swallowing all that frustration is unhealthy and it’s totally unnecessary. Instead, try making sense of your thoughts and feelings by writing them down in a daily journal. Journaling can provide a positive and thoughtful form of emotional relief.
Keep Moving
If you don’t want to spend money on a gym membership, remember that the important thing is to keep moving. Look for ways to work at least 30 minutes of vigorous movement into your day. That could mean parking farther away from work and walking part of the way, taking the stairs
instead of the elevator, or going for a brisk walk on your lunch break.
Self-care should be simple, fun, and very relaxing. You don’t have to rack up credit card charges to engage in productive, restorative self-care. Instead, emphasize low-impact activities that don’t demand much time or cost a lot of money.
