In a high tech world, we naturally have some sort of electronic device nearby but thankfully there are ways to incorporate Feng Shui to ensure that you are balancing the energy around you. Whether you are working from home, going into an office or lounging around your home, different forms of technology surround us and it’s important to be mindful when practicing feng shui.
Here are few tips to ensure you are on the right track:
- Add plants – Plants offer a simple way to cleanse a room, naturally purify and counteract negative EMF frequencies you don’t necessarily see, but your body feels. Lucky bamboo, money trees, orchids and other flowers are great additions to any space to brighten and lighten the energy in that room. Studies show that plants can help absorb radiation and are known to boost mood, productivity, and stress levels. Wood also brings energy of growth and action into a room. .
- Avoid EMFs – There are plenty of ways to do this whether it be unplugging items that are not in use like toasters, Keurigs, and other small appliances. Not placing your phone near your bed, this is an easy way to unconsciously have EMF energies near you while sleeping. It’s important to be able to rest or sleep in an area that’s clear of technology. Try placing your phone in another room or across from your bed so you can wake up feeling rested versus drained. Many reference this as creating a sleep sanctuary so you can truly recharge.
- It’s all about balance – Do you have a lot of metals in your space? To enhance your Metal energy: Add more white, silver, gold, brown, or yellow to your life. To reduce your Metal energy: Add the colors red, orange, or purple around you. If you have too much Metal energy, this could act similar to an EMF in the way it can drain healthy energy from a space so it’s important to incorporate other features.
- Be mindful of your body – Feeling stressed or overly tired? This could signal that you may need to Feng Shui reset a space. Stagnant energy can drain your internal energy very quickly. Listen to your body and adapt as you see fit.
- Wear blue light glasses – This can help prevent tension headaches and eye strain if working on a computer or using your phone for long periods of time. Blue light glasses are easily accessible and great ways to reduce the effects of technology.
- Keep cords and accessories organized – The more you can store and organize cords and keyboards, the better. This will help keep a workspace clean and clutter free which makes a big difference and will go a long way.
- Keep a safe distance – Whether that be the distance from the TV to the couch or the wifi router to your everyday areas. Keep heavily trafficked spaces free from as much technology as possible. Find creative ways to store or separate technology from essential spaces.
