Feng Shui for the perfect wedding

June 7, 2016 by Leave a Comment

20100520_M Wedding season is just around the corner and the stress to plan the biggest day of your life can be crushing. With so many details to remember, decisions to make and tasks to complete, it can take a toll on even the most organized bride. Before you finalize all your big plans, consider incorporating Feng Shui into your event and space to ensure a prosperous and abundant marriage.

Feng Shui can make a huge difference in the success of not only your magical evening, but your life of wedded bliss. Design for Energy is here to help and we love consulting with brides-to-be about locations, outdoor venues, landscaping, colors, seating arrangements and all the details that should be considered for a perfect event. In thinking how to incorporate Feng Shui into your wedding plans we have a few simple recommendations for couples to consider while you let Design for Energy handle the rest.

Stay Within Your Budget
Spending money within your budget will help to set a a good trajectory for wealth in your future. Overspending may cause you to set a bad precedent, while being miserly may discourage wealth from blessing your new family. The key here is balance. Dedicate enough money to properly celebrate this momentous event but stay within your means.

Remain Calm and Carry On
It is incredibly important that the bride and groom do not argue on the big day in order to launch a successful marriage. Weddings can be stressful, so it’s important to communicate and avoid arguments and upsets. However, it is also important not to avoid your partner on the wedding day, as this could lead to distance in the relationship. Make an effort to spend some quality time together on the big day.

Smile
While your smile may get tired from so many photos, it’s important to remember to keep your pearly whites showing. Smiling promotes a huge outpouring of energetic love, happiness and good luck. You want your married life to be endowed with loving, happy energy, so harness that with your smile.

You’re well on your way to creating the most memorable day of your life. Let Design for Energy help to make the most of your event while promoting longevity and success in your marriage.

Feng Shui For Successful and Harmonious Weddings

May 20, 2016 by Belinda Mendoza Leave a Comment

lovebirdsA wedding is a very special and big event and with all big events, should be done as large and grand as possible. This day is very similar to Chinese New Year and is symbolic.  Everything you do will set the tone for the years to come.  Elegance, family, fun, joy, romance, etc. There are certain do’s and don’ts of the day and we at Design For Energy, Austin, Tx.,  have written some of them below to help you get you started.

 1) Choose an auspicious day for the both of you to ensure that your wedding day brings in a lot of good luck  and as they say with all big milestones in life “Begin as you plan to continue!”   There are many feng shui almanacs online or a feng shui professional like Belinda Mendoza can help you with this.

2) Choose an auspicious time for your wedding ceremony to start (this will be the time you write down on your invites) so that you really do get the best luck possible during your special day.

3) Get a good photographer for lot of great photos on this day and frame the best ones to place in your home. This will create a really good atmosphere for love and romance in the home and will also bring a lot of Sheng (positive) Chi in to the home.  Place photos of wedding couple in the bedroom.  Place other family photos in living room or hallways.  Design For Energy can help you set up your home for a new start if you need help there.

 4) As far as your budget will allow you, it is generally considered that a big, expensive car (a fancy cart in the older days) will help bring great wealth to you in the future. Obviously weddings can be a VERY expensive day so make sure that you do not go over your budget when renting a car as this can cause money to leak from savings in the future as with Feng Shui, everything must be done in scale. If you can’t afford a big fancy car I would not worry too much, the key to getting this perfect is to only spend what you can afford; if you can afford a big rolls Royce, by all means get one but if you are on a budget make sure that you spend what you are happy with as this will set a good balance with wealth for the future.

5) Try to make your wedding flowers as big and as beautiful as you can afford. Fresh cut flowers symbolize good Sheng Chi (Good luck) and make great gifts for guests to take away to share your new luck but make sure that you dispose of the flowers once they start to wilt. One way of preserving the flowers would be to clip a top off and press a beautiful flower head in a wedding scrapbook; you can find information on flower pressing online.

6) It is very important that you do not argue on your wedding day as this can start the marriage off in a bad way. Weddings can be a very stressful day with trying to make sure that everything goes perfectly so if you do happen to have cross words with each other at any stage of the day, apologize to each other straight away and move on.

7) A wedding is a massive social event but be sure that you do not neglect spending time with your new partner on this day when you are busy socializing with your family and friends as this could lead to a distant relationship in the future. This doesn’t mean that you have to be joined at the hip with your new partner all day long but make time with your loved one on this day.   We like that some people supply a lot of pairs of Mandarin ducks to place on the tables at their wedding for each guest to take home as a momento.  It is believed that sharing the bride and grooms good luck on the day also helps the recipient and is considered good luck to everyone who receives them.

Hope these few tips were helpful in either planning or executing your wedding day.  Belinda Mendoza, Feng Shui Master, Austin, Tx., is available for event planning advice, feng shui design of banquet hall, feng shui advice for planning your wedding, life guidance readings for the couple, energy work for the couple on their wedding day, and energy clearings of space for successful outcomes.  Call for your Free 30 minute phone assessment and money making session anytime.

Is Feng Shui the key to selling your home quicker?

May 17, 2016 by

2375561_SInfusing the principles of Feng Shui into your home or business provides an opportunity to enhance the harmony and productivity of your space. Design for Energy has been helping realtors and homeowners in the Austin area incorporate Feng Shui principles to move homes more quickly in the real estate market. CEO and founder, Belinda Mendoza, put together a short clip on how she channels her passion for Feng Shui to help homeowners and realtors.

Some general tips for realtors or homeowners looking to sell:

  • The fewer personal possessions and clutter lying around the house, the better. Personal possessions anchor the home’s energy to the current dwellers, making it a less attractive option for buyers. For example, a buyer can much more easily visualize the potential of an empty or organized garage verses one that is packed full of belongings and clutter. Get organized, declutter and remove junk to sell a home faster or improve the energy in your home.
  • Arrange the furniture in pathways that promote smooth navigation. When you can easily walk between rooms and furniture, a sense of comfort and welcome will prevail. If furniture is poorly placed buyers and guests alike can feel cramped or claustrophobic.
  • Ensure that you have both good, natural light and quality air in your home to harness the positive feng shui energy, called chi. Open the windows often to introduce fresh air into your home. Plants or an air purifier will also help keep your home feeling fresh. Allow as much natural light as possible into your home to create a bright and inviting atmosphere.

Design for Energy offers consultations for homeowners, realtors and businesses looking to improve the harmony and energy of their spaces. No project is too large or too small. Design for Energy has the experience to provide excellent recommendations for landscaping, home staging, site audits for potential buyers, and improving the energy flow in residential and commercial spaces.

Feng Shui Easter Tips for Abundance

July 19, 2015 by Belinda Mendoza 1 Comment

Happy EasterEaster Feng Shui Tips! Yes, each holiday is a chance to renergize your intentions and enhance an area of your life that may be lagging or challenging. Its even a chance to just have the best holiday ever.

For Easter, you might try:

A round or oval table is the best to encourage the easy flow of conversation; if you have a rectangular table, soften the hard edges with a white tablecloth.
Avoid seating a husband directly across from a wife, which is known as confrontational seating.

Decorate the table with a Feng Shui color scheme that includes blue for calmness, green for new beginnings, white for clarity, and gold for power.
Place fresh flowers in the room to symbolize growth and rebirth, preferably in front of a mirror, to symbolically double their positive energy.
Avoid wearing red at your dinner. This color represents the hot Feng Shui Fire Element, and adding more heat could lead to family arguments.
Colorful Easter eggs on your dining, coffee, or foyer table in a bowl signifies creativity, fertility, and good luck.

I place Easter eggs on a wreath on my front door or in a basket near the door.  It signifies new beginnings, hatching new ideas or birthing something new.  You can also place intentions in them or money inside for added luck.

Happy Easter filled with Abundance!
