Great Feng Shui Holiday Gifts

November 28, 2016 by Belinda Mendoza Leave a Comment

Christmas presents piled underneath a christmas tree.

As the holidays approach many are thinking that they have people in our lives they  would like to give a gift.  It can be to show appreciation, love, kindness, or gratitude.  Sometimes gift giving is just plain fun!  It is a tradition and a time of celebration that makes us feel good and in the holiday spirit.  We all know of people who just have everything and we think, “what in the world do I buy them?”  Then there are those who don’t have enough money to buy gifts for those they love.

The holidays are about love and spreading love.  It is about the intention not the gift that counts. Some great ideas that cost very little are are baking, cooking your favorite casserole (as a single person I would love something homemade and delicious), writing a heartfelt poem, creating a beautiful card, or doing a service for someone.  Maybe  you offer to mow your neighbor’s lawn who is too busy or frail to do it.

There are many ways to show holiday spirit.  Another great way for business clients, associates, friends, or family members, is to wrap a gift symbolizing prosperity.  It symbolizes sending them good fortune, can uplift the energy in their space, and be totally unique.

Here are some of my favorite Feng Shui Enhancers that make great Holiday Gifts:

  1. Crystals –  They come in all colors.  You can hang them in windows.  They crystalize intentions and create a feeling of expansion.. plus, they are beautiful.  You can write a note in the gift that says your intention for them in the coming year.  An example of a good intention would be… “I see you having a prosperous and happy career”.
  2. Money Frogs – They  invite prosperity.  Place on a desk facing the door.  They are cute and come in reds, greens, and golds.
  3. Sage – Sold in bundles at stores like Whole Foods, they are good for clearing and energizing a space to invite prosperity.
  4. Coins – Put ancient chinese coins in christmas cards or a tiny gift bag.  They symbolize attracting money to you.  The person receiving them  can carry in a wallet or purse.
  5. Gold anything! – Gold represents the metal element and brings in money.  I love gold buddhas.  These are not the religious ones but the wealth ones.  He has a bag of gold he’s carrying or coins in his hands.  Elephants with trunks up are also good luck.
  6. Anything Red! – Red is a fire element and ignites things.  It is a strong prosperity symbols.  Red fondue set, red candle holders, red candles, or a red wallet are some fun ideas.
  7. Lucky Bamboo – These lush plants signify longevity and health. Great for a business in reception area or on a desk.  Good in the home in the East sector for good health.  Anyone sick in the house, lucky bamboo would be a lovely gift.

Belinda can help you shop for items or help you decorate your living room for peace-filled holidays, less arguments, and more abundance.  Having a holiday party for your employees?  Belinda can help create an amazing atmosphere to attract abundance.  We can use your decorations or shop for new ones.

Feng Shui Tips for Effective Fall De-Cluttering

November 28, 2016 by Belinda Mendoza Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving tableFall is here.  I love it!  I live in beautiful Austin, Texas where the weather is lovely this time of year. In feng shui, fall is the harvest, time to reap what you have sown all year.  It is also a time to get rid of the past, the old and anything that no longer serves you.  It helps to prepare you for new beginnings in the coming year.  In feng shui each season is a different element and color.

They all have a different energy, color, and meaning.

  • Spring – Greens, browns, woods
  • Summer – Bright yellows, Oranges,  Fiery Reds
  • Fall – Autumn Colors like burnt oranges, dark reds, browns, golds, yellows
  • Winter  -blacks, blues,purples,metallics

Fall is the second time in a year I do some major de-cluttering and I look forward to it. Not that I don’t do it all year long but a real overhaul takes place at my house during these times.   I know that sounds strange to be thrilled about this process but I just feel so good after.   Yes, I de-clutter all yeat but at these times I get into my old clothes, put some music on, dedicate a whole day in nice brisk weather, and clean out my garage or patio or backyard.  It is where the overflow from the house goes leading to the next step…. donating to charitable groups.  In one school of feng shui, your garage is a life area or an extension of the area inside.  This is especially important if you use the garage to enter your home.  It becomes the “mouth of chi”, or where maximum energy flow enters your home.   It is important that it is open, organized, clean, and fresh.

Good Mantra:  Less Clutter, More Flow

I like to have everything organized and labeled if it is something I will keep.  The get rid of pile is neatly set up so it is ready when I need to deliver or have someone pick up the things.  If it’s not been used in a while, I get rid of it.

Here are my Key Tips for Fall Abundance: Coins gold

  1. Pick a good day where you have no disruptions to do your fall de-cluttering.  A good weather day will allow you to open up windows and give the house a chance to breathe.
  2. Get a friend or a professional organizer to help you if it’s a big challenge for you.  You can get things knocked out quicker this way too.
  3. Pick an area like your garage, your yard shed, your attic, your kids room, your office, etc.  Don’t try to do the whole house.  One area a weekend works best if you want to do that process.
  4. Be aware that each room in your home has meaning.  Bedrooms are for relationship/partnership;  Bathrooms for health;  Office for business:  Attics represent aspirations; cellars or basements are the past, etc.  So whatever you clean out will open up energy for those life areas.
  5. Get rid of anything you have not used in over a year.  Donate it, give it away, or sell it!  This will move energy and allow more things to come your way.
  6. Clean the area thoroughly to get rid of dust.  Dust is stagnant energy.  Don’t put things back unless you have dusted or washed them.
  7. Celebrate your accomplishment with a friend or family member to herald in “new beginnings”.  Its good luck and keeps you motivated.

I guarantee you will not only feel better after but things in your life will being to happen magically.   Some people’s businesses slow down at this time or stop.  This is because they have allowed clutter to build up.  There is plenty of abundance energy all around you at this time so take advantage of it now.   If you need to reach me,  I’ll be in my garage!   🙂

Prosperous Blessings,

Feng Shui Your Thanksgiving for Abundance

October 26, 2016 by Belinda Mendoza Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving tableIn the world of Feng Shui, abundance is a key word.  Who doesn’t want abundance in their lives?  One of the ways to allow abundance to flow is through GRATITUDE.

At Thanksgiving time, it is  one of the times millions of families get together to give thanks.  Giving thanks says to the universe that you appreciate your life and all your blessings.  This action creates a movement of more good things to come your way.

Unfortunately, the holidays can be a depressing, argumentative time for some people.  Getting a head start in your mind  and actions will make for a happy and stress free, day of Gratitude.  Intend to have a harmonious, fun, and stress-free holiday.

Here are some Auspicious Decorating Tips for inviting good chi into your home with the Thanksgiving holiday:

  1. Add Reds.  Red is the fire element and it invites prosperity.  Red candles, tableclothes, fresh flowers, etc.
  2. Use pairs.  Set your dining table up in pairs.  2, 4, 6, 8 chairs create harmony.
  3. Create an Abundance Table.  Bring out your best stuff. Go all out with decor, colors, candles, to create a feeling of abundance and wealth.  Add golds for wealth energy.  Plate mirrors expand the abundance.
  4. Add Scents.  For energizing use eucalyptus.  For calming, lavender.  Pine, cedar, and cinnamon are also good ones.  Not too many but a spritzer or diffuser with essential oils can do the trick.  A warm baked pie or cookies in the oven always works well.  Scents move energy creating a feeling of flow.
  5. Add Earth.  Thanksgiving represents “the bounty” and earth is its element.  Ceramic and pottery dishes and serving pieces do the job nicely.  Bringing in yellows and orange colors also help.
  6. Clean.  Clean your home thoroughly before company arrives.  Dust creates stagnant energy.  Take care of kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms beforehand as they all are important in feng shui . This will set the energy for a clean slate to begin to entertain when guests arrive.
  7. Show Gratitude.  Ask all your guests to say something they are grateful for as you begin your meal.  Let your guests know how grateful you are to be spending time with them.  “What you have you will get more of”, is an energetic  prosperity law.  So if you have good friends over dinner  it is said you will have more of them in your future.
  8. Give to your favorite Charity.  Giving back brings good fortune your way.  It is not the reason to do it, it just happens to increase your money flow.  I go to the bank and get a bundle of dollar bills.  I give them out all month to homeless on the streets along with either protein bars, water, or nuts.  Many have their dogs with them so I have some packaged dog food to give out.
  9. Give Service in some way.  Do something extra for your customers that they might not expect.  I know of a realtor who delivered fresh pumpkins to many of her customers throughout the month.
